Youth Appeal: October 16-18, 2024
The Alberta Guild of English Handbell Ringers (ALGEHR) is pleased to announce that internationally-acclaimed Handbell director, composer, clinician, and soloist, Emily Li, will be in Alberta October 16 -19 as part of Handbell Discovery: Leap Appeal 2024!
A special school edition, Youth Appeal, will offer learning opportunities in Lethbridge on October 16, Calgary on October 17 and Edmonton October 18. Teachers in these areas are invited to bring their choirs to a workshop to jumpstart the new year.
This is recommended for choirs of approximately 15 students who have had previous experience ringing bells. No concert repertoire is required, but if you have a selection you've been working on, you are welcome to play it for Emily's feedback.
Registered school choirs would be scheduled into a morning or afternoon time slot (2-2.5 hours) to work with Emily on topics such as skills review, rhythm games/challenges or special techniques. The actual times will be finalized to accommodate bussing schedules.
The cost per student is $15. A deposit of $50 is required to reserve your spot.
Teachers must be regular members of ALGEHR (Join HERE).
The final number of students and the deposit must be provided by Sept 20 2024 and the remainder of the fee of $15 per student paid by Oct 9 2024. No refunds will be provided unless the spot is filled by another school.
Your school's spot will not be confirmed until the deposit is received. If it is possible to pay upon registration, your workshop will be guaranteed. Deposit payments will be accepted into Sept 2024 or until the workshop is full.
